Wymond -

Wymond is the land of steel, storms and secrets. All who dare head into that land, be it by land or sea, will face the wildest storms conceivable. It is said that as long as the Eternal Soul of Wymond stands so will the storms that guard it; to this day no one recalls a single moment in which lightning and thunder doesn’t rumble the land or dark clouds surround the area, forcing many to turn around rather than risk their own well being. On land a long bridge awaits those who brave the storm, leading to the great walls of the Kingdom. On shore the steel and guardians of Wymond wait those who managed the feat of surviving the waves and beasts. In the end travelers would be rewarded with an unusual sight: There, within the walls, live people of delicate features and disciplined minds, they offer polite smiles with stern looks and in the most gracious manner will host any outsider if only to boast of their good fortune, for even the poorest of farmers can claim to have the Jade dragon’s blood within. Even the storms seem to respect the livelihood of any true Wymondian family, favoring their crops and hunts. Yet this hospitality is short lived.

Should an outsider remain with no plans of settling by becoming part of a family, through any of the many options offered, the smiles would fade and food would be less plenty; if not careful then one would know just how mighty the steel of Wymond is: the Blacksmith’s forge never rests and their techniques, just like those of food, women, and thriving in the land, are tightly kept secrets. Amongst the rumors of the isolated land there are two things of note.

The first whispers of riches hidden by the earth and the sea. By the cliffside there are caves rich in minerals, entrances easily reached by expert Wymondians. Yet further down, where the waves crash and whip any against the rocks, it is said treasures lay deep within, guarded by creatures of legend. Perhaps it is for this reason that Wymond condones piracy in the high seas. They already admire any who is able to hold their mettle, and have no issue hiring scoundrels who take the untamable ocean as their mistress and its monsters as their pets. Some say that Wymondians are so on board with the idea that becoming a sailor is one of the few occupations outside of the walls that is not frowned upon.

The second one is not treated as a rumor. To question the truth behind this would make the person an enemy of any proud Wymondian. The Eternal Soul of Wymond is non other but the Jade Dragon, a being so ancient that people say is the first child of Gaia, born of the elements, whose life cycle returns it to youth once the body had gone frail. Be it under the guise of a man or a woman, the dragon always comes back. And the thunder continues.
